Before you leave for the cabin:

 Remember to bring your own linens (There are 2 queen beds, a queen size sleeper sofa, and two single beds) and
towels (bath, lake, kitchen towels, etc.)
 If it's snowing in the mountains, always bring snow chains (if you don’t have 4WD). Very seldom do you need chains
to get to Arnold, but you should always bring them along.
 Check in time is 3:00pm and check‐out time is noon

Directions (Address is 2474 Pine Drive, Arnold CA)

o Take highway 4 to Arnold, CA
o Just past the Big Trees Market in Arnold turn left onto MEADOWMONT WAY
o Turn left onto PINE DR.
o Cabin in 200 yrs on right … look for “Kennedy” sign. If you are arriving at night, as you drive down Pine Drive
look for two blue reflectors on a tree on the right side of the street. Take an immediate right into driveway.

When at the cabin:

 The keys are in an electrical lockbox on the porch to the left of the steps. The combination is 26‐08‐34 (Clockwise 3 times to 26, Counter‐clockwise twice to 8, clockwise to 34).
 If you lose the key during your stay, there is another one hidden on the property. Please call Colm at (925) 525‐2042
or Stephanie at (925) 580 5522.
 Upon arrival, turn the hot water heater on. The switch is to the left of the sink.
 If you want to buy groceries once you get to Arnold, Big Trees Market is a full‐size grocery store just across the road
from the cabin. It is open from 8am ‐ 8pm (holiday schedule may differ).
 There is no landline phone at the cabin. The only cell phone service that works consistently in Arnold is Verizon
Wireless. There is a pay phone outside of Big Trees Market.
 There’s a DVD player at the cabin (sorry ‐ no cable TV), with a good selection of DVDs. There is a DVD rental kiosk
inside Big Trees Market and a video rental place up Hwy 4 in Arnold that is open until 8pm. There is also an iPod full
of music and some great books.
 No campfires allowed (CDF regulations).
 There is a wall heater and a large wood‐burning stove. Feel free to use the wood provided.
 If you use the wood‐burning stove, you must keep the screen on the fire. I know it’s romantic to have an
open fire, but nothing kills romance like the smell of burning furniture.
 Feel free to use the following during your stay:
      - BBQ: This is stored behind the deck, BBQ tools in front entry.
      - Hammock: We store this in the front entry during the summer. It can be put up between the two trees in the
         back next the picnic table.
      - Horseshoes/bocce ball in the entry room. There’s an area just behind the cabin to play.
      - Sleds and snowshoes: Stored in the entry room in the winter.
 Please sign the guestbook as we love to have a record of our guests.

When leaving the cabin:

 You don’t need to winterize or clean the cabin as the cleaning service will handle this.
 Return BBQ, hammock, horseshoes, bocce ball, etc. to where you found them. Please clean BBQ and BBQ tools if
used.
 Take home any food you brought with you.
 Clean all dishes and leave in the drying rack.
 Leave garbage in garbage can in the kitchen. If you have more garbage please place garbage bags (no loose garbage)
in the bear‐proof locker at the back of the cabin. Do NOT leave garbage sitting outside as the critters will get into it.
 Turn off the hot water heater, the wall heater & the lights (inside & outside); lock all windows; close the woodburning
stove doors, lock outside shed if opened.
 Lock both doors, and lock the key back in the lockbox.
